NEW COMMUNITY WORKER FOR PRIORS PARK Flat Could Become Neighbourhood Network Office.
Plans to launch a new neighbourhood network for Priors Park is due to be considered by the Borough Planning Committee within the next few weeks.
The proposal is to turn a flat in Crouch Court into an office for a community worker to lead the scheme. Once appointed, the leader will help local residents set up and carry out schemes to improve life for themselves and the general community.
Projects could include such things as arranging childcare facilities to enable local people to train as volunteer workers, or organizing working parties to clean up open spaces on the estate.
The scheme is being funded by a Government grant of £50,000 a year for the next three years. Borough Councillor Chris Smith said: "It is the first real money to go into Priors Park for many years, and will make a big difference."
