POLICE ON THE MOVE Local Station set for refurbishment
Tewkesbury Police have got a new temporary home. The police station in Barton Street is about to undergo major refurbishment.
Whilst this is happening service will continue as usual, from the old magistrates court in Gander Lane. Part of the court room is still used as offices for the magistrates committee, but only occasional inquests are held in the court room itself.
No date has been set for the move, but it is expected to be within the next two or three weeks.
There was a suggestion that they should move into the foyer of the borough council offices in Gloucester Road, but this was considered unsuitable as it is too far from the town centre.
