Tewkesbury Dragon goes on his travels.
Skip invited to Banbury Folk Festival.

Skip, the Tewkesbury dragon, who played a leading role in the St George's day celebrations has been invited to a hobby horse and morris creature festival in Banbury, Oxford.

The invitation came after local folk musician Richard Sermon was talking to one of the organisers about the town's celebrations, and mentioned the 16ft dragon.

When he heard how big it was he got very excited and said he really wanted it at the festival - he even offered to organise transport.

He will certainly be the biggest creature there and should attract a lot of attention" Richard said.

Skip, who can currently be seen in the window of the Old Hat Shoppe in Barton Street, was made by Eifian Thomas especially for St George's Day.

He said: " I am delighted that more people will get the chance to see him." The Banbury Festival is on July 1st and 2nd.

The dragon will next be seen in Tewkesbury as part of the Medieval Festival on July 7th to 9th.
