Bridge could be all lit up! £28,000 plan for King John's Bridge
The Town Management Group wants to replace the exisiting ordinary street lights on the bridge with seven decorative lighting columns with brackets for hanging baskets.
The scheme is expected to cost £28,000. Funding is expected to come from the £150,000 regeneration fund being held by the borough council.
Town Councillor Stan Greenland said, "I believe the project will greatly improve the bridge approach to the town and will complement the plans already in place for environmental improvements."
The Borough Council already has plans for a picnic area on King John's Island between the houses and the lock.
