Rob Lewis and the Gloucestershire branch of the Hawk and Owl Trust have set up four A frame nest boxes on the site, in the hope of attracting barn owls.
He said:
"I have never seen any owls there myself, but there have been two or three reported over the past few years. Looking at the habitat I would say there have got to be some."
He added that Severn Trent are very keen on promoting wildlife, and are managing their boundaries in accordance with advice from the trust.
"They are leaving the grass long round the edges to attract voles and other small animals, which should encourage owls," he said.
The wooden nesting boxes have been paid for by Severn Trent and the group hopes to install more on other suitable sites.
