Special Schools Petition Grows Letters of support flood in for campaign
The campaign to save Alderman Knight School is growing stronger and stronger.
The school, which caters for children with special educational needs, is threatened with closure under the County Council’s plans to re-organise special needs provision in the County.
A petition to save all four Gloucestershire schools for children with moderate learning difficulties has now got 40,000 signatures. 3000 individual letters of support have been received by the special schools support group.
The group plans to take the petition and the letters to London and present them to Prime Minister Tony Blair, to demonstrate the strength of local feeling on the matter.
