Methodist re-opens for Easter £400,000 refit complete
The church at the Cross has been closed since last October for a major refurbishment.
Whilst it was closed the roof has been extensivly repaired as has decaying plaster work.
Coroded windows, some of them almost 150 years old have been mended and the heating system has been completely upgraded.
Behind the church the hall has been converted from a number of small rooms into one large one, suitable for use as a youth or community centre. A proper kitchen has been installed.
The hall has been linked to the church with a covered walkway.
Whilst the church has been closed members have been welcomed into Holy Trinity Church to share their facilities.
In general, Holy Trinity has held its services in the mornings with the Methodists meeting in the afternoons.
