Thanks for the Ambulance! Tewkesbury aid worker gets letter from Kosova
The letter, from Dr. Ukshin Ismaili, the director of Gjilane Hospital in Kosova, has now been translated.
He says:
"The staff at the Gjilane hospital warmly thank you for the aid - an ambulance and surgical equipment - which you have given us. Your help reached us at the most difficult time when we lacked practically, all medical instruments and ambulances, which are vital for the normal work of the hospital. We hope we shall work together in the future and that you will help us. By helping us you are helping the entire local population. The medical staff of the hospital and all the people of Gjilane are grateful to you for this. You will be welcome at any time."
During his visit to Kosova, Roger visited a local school and found that it too lacked even basic equipment. Now he has vowed to go back again later in the year with a load of educational supplies.
"They need everything from pens and pencils to computers as well as sports equipment. If there are any companies out there replacing their computers we can find a good home for the old ones. At the moment they have so little that the children have to take it in turns to go to school," he said.
