River Fun For Tewkesbury Youngsters Bell boat will be available to all
Youth groups in and around Tewkesbury will be able use a new boat being bought by the town’s Liaison Group.
The £3000 Bell boat will be used to teach them rowing and river skills.
The double hulled boats have been specially designed to be very safe and stable in the water. The Tewkesbury boat will be delivered in March, and will be available for use as soon as river conditions permit.
The liaison group is hoping to raise enough money to buy a second boat later in the year.
Chairman, Mrs Barbara Cromwell said: "We want the youngsters to learn to use them, then we could have race as part of the Water Festival in July. "Perhaps it will make a few more people realise what an asset Tewkesbury has got in its rivers."
The boat was bought with a re-generation grant from the borough council.
