Farmers Market for Tewkesbury TDG Members prepare report...
A Farmers Market could soon be a regular feature in Tewkesbury.
The Town Development Group is looking into setting up a market as a way of attracting more trade to the town. Members have visited successful markets in other places, including Malvern, and are preparing a report on their findings. It should ready by end of February, or early March.
The scheme has the full support of the town council, which has agreed to do all it can to help set it up. Farmers or Producers Markets are where fresh produce is sold directly from the grower to the consumer. Town Councillor Chris Shervey said: "Tewkesbury is the only market town within quite an area, so a Farmers Market could be highly successful."
