FREE FAIR RIDES FOR LOCAL YOUNGSTERS Mayors make Millennium memorable
Tewkesbury Mop Fair, 2000 will be one to remember for local youngsters. Borough Mayor Mark Calway and Town Mayor Peter Randell have worked with the Showmen's Guild to give every primary school child in the Borough a chance of six free rides.
The fair will run for an extra day to allow them to use the tickets that are being issued through schools this week. The tickets can be used during a special extra session from 4 to 6pm on Sunday October 8. The session will be followed by a church service at the dodgems site near The Cross at 6pm, the two Mayors will then officially open the fair at 6.45. The Fair will operate as normal on Monday and Tuesday, with the streets and car parks being cleared by Wednesday morning.
