| | Tewkesbury Historical Society The next meeting of the Society takes place on Thursday 21 May at 7.45 at the Methodist Church at the Cross. Cliff Burd will be having an illustrated conversion with three mystery guests (see poster on website) about life in Tewkesbury in 1950s and 1960s Bulletin 18 has been published! It features articles on the last day of Tewkesbury's Railway in 1961 and life on the railway around about World War II; the history of our Cattle Markets, a History of Tewkesbury Baptist Church, the Freeman family's History in Photographs continues and another article highlights the importance of Tewkesbury in English Folk Songs. Three new local histroy books are also reviewed. Members can obtain copies at meetings and also Alison's Bookshop stocks them. Please look at our website for other important Society news. The weekly computer tuition, assisted by Geoff Everitt, continues on Thursday afternoons from 2.30-4.30 sponsored by Tewkesbury School.
